It is launching an international trade and export strategy with the priority of supporting small and medium sized businesses.
The authority said that SMEs were the foundation of the local economy, contributing around half of the employment and turnover, and boosting exports was a “strong route” towards increased private sector growth.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) are delivering their fifth Export Week, from 7 – 11 April. 70 events are featured for small and mid-sized businesses across the UK with organisations attending a variety of workshops, seminars, intellectual property and marketing workshops.
UK Trade & Investment are inviting businesses to meet British Embassy staff representing the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia), and the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). The event will provide the opportunity to discuss how to grow export business to these developed markets.
