Queen’s honours for four top firms

Three were honoured for international trade – Dismatec, Melett and Abbey Forged Products – and one for innovation – Roy Hatfield Ltd. This year a total of 162 awards have been handed out – 110 for international trade, 39 for innovation and 13 for sustainable development. Sheffield rallies in bid to drive up exports

It is launching an international trade and export strategy with the priority of supporting small and medium sized businesses.

The authority said that SMEs were the foundation of the local economy, contributing around half of the employment and turnover, and boosting exports was a “strong route” towards increased private sector growth.
