The importance of language and culture is often underplayed or overlooked in international business, yet they can form a significant barrier to effective international communication.

This free, highly interactive and participative half day workshop aims to provide delegates with practical, immediately implementable tips for enhancing communication with international contacts, both in emails and in face-to-face or telephone meetings.

9.30am – 11.00am Effective email communication in international business

Sending emails to international contacts in the same way that you might to those in the UK may ruin a partnership, sale or business relationship before it begins. Using sample international business emails this practical session will provide specific tips and guidelines to minimise misunderstandings and maximise the effectiveness of international email communication.

11.00am – 11.15am  Break

11.15am – 12.45amIntitot? Using International English for effective business communication in emails and meetings

In a world where communication is key in all business, this interactive session introduces some of the aspects of the English language which can make email, face-to-face or telephone business communications challenging for non-native speakers.

Through the use of practical exercises and examples, you will gain first-hand experience of some of the difficulties which non English native speakers may face in even everyday spoken and written business encounters, and practical tips to maximise your effectiveness in international business. You may be surprised at just how complex the English language is.
