Bolsover aiming to be a top regional tourist destination (Demo)

Bolsover is going back to its historic roots to shape a brighter new future and draw in more tourists to boost its economy.

The Derbyshire town is being rejuvenated and turned into a tourist destination with the help of £750k of European regional development funding secured by Bolsover District Council.

The Discover Bolsover brand has been created and the town now has its own logo and website,, the first step in a campaign to highlight it as a destination. It wants to build on the huge popularity of Grade I listed English Heritage site Bolsover Castle, and entice visitors to other historic attractions, the castle’s Conduit Houses, the Grade II listed New Bolsover Model Village, and the town entrenchments, a rare 12th century ‘city wall’ that still circles part of the town.
