Queen’s honours for four top firms

Four “outstanding” South Yorkshire companies have received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, at the UK’s most prestigious business awards.

Three were honoured for international trade – Dismatec, Melett and Abbey Forged Products – and one for innovation – Roy Hatfield Ltd.

This year a total of 162 awards have been handed out – 110 for international trade, 39 for innovation and 13 for sustainable development. Previously known as the Queen’s Awards to Industry, the first awards were given in 1966.

The three local international trade winners enjoyed substantial growth in overseas earnings.
